Snow King Resort and Winter Haven Resorts are open for skiing and snowmaking for the second week in a row, the resorts announced Friday.
In addition to skiing, snowmaking is expected to take place at both resorts.
Snow King has snowmaking at the Tamarak Resort on Lake Huron and at the Capitol Reef Resort in Tampico.
Winter Haven has snow and sleetmaking on Lake Tahoe and the Capitola Resort on the San Francisco Bay.
Snow King Resort President Robert Gorman said the resorts are in good shape and anticipate that temperatures will drop into the 40s this weekend.
The resort is located on the northernmost tip of Lake Hurons west coast, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from the nearest ski resort in Tahoe.
Tamarack is located in the southernmost part of Lake Tahoes west coast and about 50 to 70 miles (85 to 95 kilometers) away from Tahoe ski resort.
Winter Haven Resort President and CEO Jeff Hargis said the resort is ready to take advantage of the season’s new snow and rain.
“Winter Haven Resort has been working hard to ensure the quality of our snowmaking processes and have been in excellent shape,” he said.
“We are confident that we will have an excellent winter ski season.”
The resorts have both snowmaking and snowshoeing facilities.
