Disney’s Perdido Beach Resort says it is ‘in a state of shock’ after shark attack

Disney has confirmed a report by Fox News that the popular resort in Perdito Beach, Florida, has experienced a shark attack.

The report cited local reports that the animal was in the area around 9:30 a.m. when it attacked a man in a kayak, killing him and injuring another person.

In a statement, the resort said the reports are inaccurate and are false.

It added: “We are in a state in shock as we learned of the tragic loss of life and are working diligently to learn all the facts.

The safety and well-being of our guests and employees is paramount.”

Disney also said in a statement that the resort is “aware of the reports regarding the death of a guest and the injury of a witness” and that there is no threat to guests or employees.

Disney said the investigation into the death will be led by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials.

The resort’s website says the park’s shark habitat is open for guests to visit and fish in the pool.
