A hotel in Fiji has taken the crown as the best beach resort in the country.
The BlueGreen Resort and Spa in Cabana Beach, the capital of the Maldives, boasts more than 30,000 rooms, a private jet, the best surf spot in the region, a full bar and a luxury beachfront.
The resort opened its doors in 2012 and now has 3,700 rooms.
“I’m happy with the outcome.
The surf has been fantastic, we have more guests and it’s been a really good year,” owner Jadri Vannin told Al Jazeera.
“The fact that we’ve managed to attract so many people from all over the world is really great.”
The resort has more than 300,000 people staying in its four-star, two-bedroom villas.
It has two swimming pools and is also home to the Maldivian BlueGreen Skiing Club.
“We’ve also added more luxury, such as private cabanas and villas,” Vannon told Al-Jazeera.

Vannnins wife and business partner, Mina, also owns BlueGreen, which has been operating since 2012.

BlueGreen has hosted the Maldiva government, which was considering buying the property, for a year.
They are currently holding a competition for prospective buyers, hoping to secure a five-star hotel.
Vannins daughter is also the managing director of BlueGreen.

The couple started BlueGreen in 2014.
They started in Fiji and have been expanding to other islands in the Maldive, including Molokai.
